Gabriel García Márquez was a Colombian writer, remembered as one of the most prominent figures of the Latin American boom generation and an exponent of magical realism. He was born on March 6, 1927 in Aracataca, Colombia. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982. Died in Mexico City, April 17, 2014.
